Just before the first half term of the school year, the school took part in THE BIG BOOK BANK. It was where all the children could bring their favourite book in to school and write a short book review on how they thought the book was. They then kept the book in school for two weeks, and let other children in different classes of KS2 read it. The review was stuck onto the book either on the back or the front, so that whoever read it could find out what the owner thought of it.
After it was all over, the children who brought a book in all got a pen and pencil, (and they got their book back.) Some children decided to donate their book to the school, and some only loaned it. Also, whoever brought a book in was given a voucher to buy 1 free book from Waterstones. There were 12 books to choose from, and there was a mad rush for them.
Mr Scarlett thought that it was a good idea to let the children bring their books in. He also thought that we should do it again.
All the children agreed that it was a good idea.
