Operation Christmas Child (Shoebox Appeal)

We are taking part in the “ShoeboxAppeal” once again.  Thank yOperation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal Parcelsou for your generous support in previous years, last year the school collected 98 shoeboxes which was fantastic, but can we do even better this year?

If you look at the photograph on the front of this years leaflet (which you should have already received) the little girl is holding a box that we are almost sure is a box from our school!  Someone remembers putting in the items that the little girl is holding and also recognises the wrapping paper on the box!

This is what Tanja (10 years old) thought about her shoebox:

She was delighted to find and cuddle a doll in her shoebox.  As well as the doll Tanja was very excited with the jewellery and the pencil box that she found.

Tanja lives in a camp in Belgrade with her parents and 6 brothers and sisters. Their home has electriOperation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal Parcelscity but no running water. That shoebox was the only present that Tanja received last Christmas.

Please try to help us to make more children smile this Christmas.  Maybe we could reach 100 shoeboxes with your help!

If you need any more information or another leaflet please ask Mrs. Leitch.

Nengchullou

Nengchullou is the child we support in India.

This is Nengchullou. She lives in a village in north east India, in a house made of mud walls, with a thatched roof.

The children of Burstwick School are collecting money to support her education.

We receive updates on her progress and drawings like the one below from her too.
