Performance at the big top by Year 6

Due to the floods the year 6 children had to go to school at South Holderness for their lessons. Here are two children’s thoughts about this.

My week at South Holderness!

South Holderness was a very exciting week for me because we got to experience part of what it will be like in September. We had a lot of fun and made a lot of new friends from the other school that was there because of the floods.

South Holderness is a lot bigger than Burstwick School. I prefer South Holderness than Burstwick because it is bigger and there are more people to make friends with because there are more children.

We didn’t do their (South Holderness) school curriculum we did our own which was the down side to it because we didn’t get the full experience of South Holderness.

My week at South Holderness

When I arrived at South Holderness I was scared but after 2 or 3 days I was fine. When it was playtime the playground was a bit small. I met a friend from my old school, Hedon Primary School.  A few years ago she moved to Inmans so I didn’t see her much. When it was dinner and we got to choose what we wanted to eat but we had to have the right money.

After dinner we had to go on the play ground with the children from Inmans School and it was a bit boring. When we came in, the bell went off for the start of lessons. We carried on doing our pizza project. Later we went out to play then we went on the coach back to our school.

We are making a book about the Great Flood of Burstwick. This is one of the pages from it.

In June 2007 there was a flood in Burstwick down Elm tree farm road.

Many people have been evacuated from their homes and staying at the Hare and Hounds, or staying at a hotel.
